I installed my new apacer handy steno 256 MB flash disk onto a friend's win98se system while I was travelling.
Nothing showed up to safely remove the disk like it did in my winxp at home, and we eventually tried doing an "eject" from the properties.
It looked like it was working fine as the files and folders still appeared on the disk when it reinserted, but when I got it home and tried to transfer the files back onto my hard drive it said the files were corrupt.
I've never had a flash drive before.
In order to clear the drive I did a full format - didn't delete the files; make drive bootable - just added files and didn't delete the corrupt ones; and quick format - didn't show the files anymore.
But now the drive is showing up as 247 MB and I think it was showing up as 256 before all this happened. So maybe the files are still on it somewhere??
I think I have everything backed up somewhere, so I just need to find a way to get the full space back again.
Thanks for any help.
