flash drive not detected on my computer

November 7, 2010 at 18:19:03
Specs: Windows XP
I have a 4GB Lexar flash drive that has never been used. I have tried it in 4 computers now and none of the computers recognize it. I checked in device manager and yes I have a yellow check mark near the device. I have tried to update the driver and windows can not update. Under device status I have a code 10 error. Does the device need to be re-formatted? Is it a bad flash drive?

Look for the device in Disk Management. You probably need to partition and format it. Possibly assign a drive letter too. If so, I suggest a high letter to avoid conflicts later on
