Specs: Windows XP
My laptop recently broke with an unmountable boot error, the recovery console didnt work so i reinstalled xp.
that seems to have worked but the only thing that is now not working is my network connections,I have no options when i go into it and the network set up wizards dont work because they say i dont have the right software. my ethernet controller, network controller, PCI device arent working in the other devices tab under device manager.. my laptop is old but im away from home so cant get a new one and i just need it to get me through 10 more weeks.,. its a dell inspiron 1300, nearly 4 years old..

You reinstalled Windows but not the device drivers. There's only a limited amount of drivers included on the Windows CD, the rest have to be installed manually. Drivers should be updated occasionally as well.

If you don't have a separate drivers CD, go to the Dell site & download the individual drivers for the Inspiron 1300.

Copy them to a disc or thumbdrive, then transfer them to a folder on your PC & install from there...or you can just install directly from the CD/thumbdrive.
