Fixed faulty ram, not my keyboard won't work

February 23, 2011 at 16:52:39
Specs: Windows XP
I was having problems with my computers fan running in short second spurts and my computer would not boot. I removed the RAM and reseated it. My computer would then boot but with extreme artifacting over my entire screen. Finally I replaced one of the memory sticks for another one that I had sitting around the house and it started to run fine with clear picture.

But now I have a completely unresponsive keyboard. No lights or anything. Of course I already checked if it was plugged in properly and it is. I have no idea where to go from here to fix this problem.

Please help

I had problems with several AMD chipsets, most notably the 785G, and USB keyboards in general. The problem is all but gone thanks to boards shipping with updated bios...I guess my question for you is what board are you using? Also, are you running the keyboard through a hub or directly to the machine?
