Comment:

This might be a stupid question, but if i run FIXBOOT in the recovery console, will i lose files on the drive i FIXBOOT to?
I have googled, but not found a answer to this. It says something about writing a new partition boot sector.
I was just wondering if that means it must delete the existing partition.
I've never used the recovery console. i just want to be certain before i delete my files accidentally.

no bother i found the answer:
Fixboot would not make your file system disappear. It only rewrites the master boot record so, if your system is there, it will boot.
