This is the first time I have delt with all SATA connections. I have a COOLER MASTER HAF 932 case and ASUS M3N72-D AM2+/AM2 NVIDIA nForce 750a SLI ATX AMD Motherboard. There is no way to connect my sound card ( Audigy 2 ZS) to the back of my DVD ROM like my old computers. Does SATA pick up sound from my DVD ROM?

I haven't had to connect a CD/DVD drive to a soundcard since...1998.

You probably didn't have to connect the DVD drive to the Audigy in your old machine; the audio was most likely being transferred through the PATA interface (ribbon cable).

So, no, you won't have to worry about connecting anything other than the SATA and power cable.

Lol. I know the Phenom is an AMD processor but what's a "Phenom 5500"? I'm just bustin on the OP. I've asked the same question is all his/her threads & have yet to get a response. There is no such model number.
