No video card? You're just going to use the onboard?

I suggest you choose a different power supply, preferrably one with a single +12v rail with high amperage.

HL2 was released in 2004. Try playing a more modern game such as Crysis (2007) with the HD3300 integrated graphics & you'll be singing a different tune, probably "Cry Me a River"

Half life2 is old game but still one of the good game.If your aren't gamer don't buy graphic card that hd 3300 will be enough. Look for corsair cmpsu-550vx single +12v@41a.

No i have no intentions of gaming. my goal is to only edit video and watch and record live tv while surfering. the psu is on its way as I type this. i didnt see any problems with the psu. it should do what I need it to do. it has excellent rating just as the corsair does.

You should choose a better PSU because you WILL eventually want to install a better graphic card/s and then you will need the Amps.

Cards near the top end can draw 18A by themselves.

U have already make big mistake for buying that psu. As otherhill said cards near to top end can draw 18a by themselves, look the specs of that psu(earthwatts) it has +12v1@17a +12v2@17a which isn't enough when try to install decent graphic card.
