Now: I tryed to upgrade the FIRMWARE of a CD-RW/DVD Samsung SM-348B T501 using the wrong Firmware version. After that the device has dissapeared.I tried to put it on other PC,it doesn't appear neither in BIOS or in SAFE MODE.
May I ask you what can I do ?

Since it no longer apears, I doubt you can try to revert back to the old firmware (or any) version.

You may need to replace it. Good thing that DVD cookers have come down in price!

Hello,

First I hope that I can get an email response to this problem at UUZ2BLOLLI@aol.com.

I have a Panasonic CF-48 laptop computer with a MATs---A UJDA750 DVD/CDDRW installed running WIndows 2000. The driver I have is dated 11/14/1999. Here in lies my problem.

When I try to play a DVD it does not work.

When I try to reload the computer using the restore CD provided by the manufacturer it says the L: drive is invalid.

I can play CD's in MP3 format fine.

I can use a DVD/CD cleaner and it runs fine.

Please help

Lonnie White

Lonnie, it sounds like the DVD lense is busted and now only the CD lense is working.

Petru, the only chance to revive the DVD is to reflash the EEPROM in an EEPROM Programer. Dunno if you can have access to such a thingie, i could reflash it for you but the cost of shiping will probably be grater than the price of a new unit.

It's nice to be important but it's more important to be nice...

Petru,

If the flash had been successful, what would you have gained? Just wondering....
