Dell was not able to help me. I have a 17" flat panel LCD dell monitor. All I need to know is how to find out the max resolution and maybe a driver so my dell computer recognizes it for what it is instead of a generic pnp.

A Google search with your monitor's model number should turn up the maximum resolution it's capable of.
You don't need the monitor's driver.

Before a monitor driver you need a display chip driver.
