im back with another compaq armada e700 issue. the thing this time is that when i go into my computer and look up hardware and device manager i do not see any ethernet port thing under network adapters only my alltel wireless usb adapter. is there a way for my computer to actually find it so i do not have to keep using slow wifi and finally use a cord.

What does that mean? I gave you the link to find your drivers. Here's the network driver:

Download the file then double click on it. If it doesn't automatically install, it will unpack to a folder in the root directory & you'll have to install it from there.

Check your bios to see if the onboard adapter is turned on or not. If it is then disable it and boot the computer a few times then turn the NIC back on in bios to see if that helps. Watch the screen when it boots to see what to push to enter setup menu.
