Have an old gateway 450 desktop computer. Need to find internal parts list and what type of harddrive. Need to know what type DRam, etc

Kuwese's link is for laptops and the other downloads require the gateway be working. I sense that might not be the case.

Really all you need to do is open the thing up and have a look. The motherboard and any cards that came with it originally will have gateway part numbers on them on a sticker.

It used to be you could go to gateway's support site and punch in the serial number on the back of the case to get all that information. Well I think you can still do it but it no longer recognizes some of the older models. You can try this and see what you come up with:

I'll take a stab at it & guess it's a Gateway G6-450. If that's correct, it can take up to 384MB (3 x 128MB) of PC100 RAM.

Even with the max amount of RAM installed, your system is not a good candidate for WinXP (or newer). Stick to Win9x/ME, Win2000, or possibly a lightweight version of Linux.

Sorry Guys ..I got it wrong!!...tis a gateway TBR2 450 PIII desktop PC..instead of a gateway 450 (G6-450 )desktop PC ...however I want to thank all for their replies..I tried all of them un fortunetly I had the wrong computer info ..Ithink all of them would have worked if i had used the right info ..again sorry guys but thanks to all..will try to let you all know which replies work ed ASAP ..JAY
