Guys i have new 80 gb hard drive what tool should i use?????
FDISK or WINDOWS XP DISK MANAGER
I am going to install WINXP by the way
and is it important to FULL FORMAT the new partition????? If i make 2 partitions then is it nessacary to FULL format instead of QUICK ????

I hate those people who dont share their problem and solutions with other people...

Use the floppy that came with it...that's what it's for

If you're gonna install XP as NTFS, just use the CD...OR go to the hard drive manufacturer's website & download the software that SHOULD have come with your new HDD! LOL

Just use XP's disk manager to partition and format the drive. You can do this during installation, if you are installing Windows on the drive, or from Disk Management if you are adding the drive to a computer that already has Windows. There is no reason you should have to use anything else.

You will have to do a full format the first time you format the drive. Other than that, a quick format is usually adequate.
