Fax machine sends, does not receive

Where does the message:-
FAILED TO CONNECT
appear?
At the sender's machine?
If so, it suggests one of your settings has been changed, e.g. from auto to manual.
Is there any help available from Lexmark?

Failed to connect appears after trying to receive (CONNECTING) on THIS machine for 30seconds. I tried to get a fax sent from several difference machines and the result was the same.
So it only sends and doesn't receive, I had it on auto receive but I don't think putting it on manual would make any difference. When the sender's dials in, that number does appear, its just that when it gets to CONNECTING, it fails.
