Reply: (edit)I'd say the p166, but if thisn't isn't gonna be an every dan computer, I'd go for the cyrix, just to say you have one. They wern't anything great, but I had an old 333 cyrix and I wish I still had it, just because. Reply: (edit)I'd say it's a wash. I think the Cyrix is PR rated...the PR200+ actually runs at 166mhz. ...there is no spoon...

Reply: (edit)If I am not mistaken the FSB on the Cyrix is higher, so it should be a little better. The MB needs to have proper FSB and voltage settings.

Reply: (edit)Yea, the Cyrix PR200+ is supposed to run at 2 x 83mhz FSB. But as you said, "The MB needs to have proper FSB and voltage settings". If the Cyrix has to be run at 2.5 x 66mhz, I'd ditch it & go with the Pentium. If it's a Pentium 166MMX, there's no question about it...go with the Pentium & run it at 200mhz (3 x 66) ...there is no spoon...

Reply: (edit)Hi, I think the voltage on the p166 is 2.8v core, have one at home, but I am not at home, Anyway, increase the fsb to reach the higher speed, I think you can go as high as 3.0 or 3.1v \, which will probably be contradicted, anyway for the 200mhz mark you shoud only have to get jump .1v, if any, depending on the board. You shoud hope it is a better board like an asus txp4 tx97 or and fic or something that will have a good manual to tell all the capable voltages on the board, not just recommended ones, some manuals will only tell you specific voltages for specific cpu's and since you will overclock you will not have these cpu's. I agree with jam and overhill on the pentium trade.
