I recently turned on my computer and was unable to access my external hard drive due to a cyclic redundancy check error....my question is after getting my data off my FantomDrive 2TB External Hard Drive-1 yr old, can i format and continue using this HDD or should I Replace?
This can be anything from a glitch to a failing HD, so it's difficult to be too definite regarding future usage. This might be of general interest (although the OS is not specified):
