I'm upgrading my computer to make it mostly silent. Can anyone recommend a good fanless heatsink to cool a Core 2 Duo processor? I have a medium-sized case.

I have seen cheap water coolers, dunno if I'd try it without a fan.

In many cases the CPU's HSF is only partly responsible for the noise in a PC. If you are planning on a truly silent PC, you have to think about the case as a whole including all components likely to generate the machine's combined noise.
With that stated, there are many air cooling solutions for the CPU that you might want to look into.
