H iahve just bought 2 cooler fans one a 120mm exaust and the other a 80mm fan both on the side of my case, the problem is the 80mm one plugs in the PSU and workd great, but the 120mm plugs into the motherboard, I plugged the 120mm into the sys fan plug
Nowhen I run PCAlert 4 it tellme me my sys fan is running to slow, is there a way on PCAlert 4 that I can disable the warning
my 120mm exaust fan is running at 1917rpm
Thanks
Richard

I would be careful installing 120 mm fan on the motherboard. Most 120 mm fans draw 380 mA and most motherboards are only made to support 300 or 350 mA max draw to the fan. This could be the cause of your problem. I would imagine there is alot of stress on the motherboard from the current draw resulting in a voltage drop accross the RPM sense.
You could fix this by wiring the fan to the PSU (like you did with the smaller fans) and joining the RPM sense lead to a 3 pin plug by itself and pluging that into the motherboard. You'll need a soldering, a PSU plug, and a 3 pin fan plug.
It is also handy wiring it to the PSU cause then you can install a switch for the fan so you can turn it off when it's too noisy.

Just to let you know the fan takes 2.18wats of power to run it
Also the little 80mm fan was made for the PSU and i didn't alter it in anyway
Thanks again for all the replys
