Fan is Broken (Not in computer)

July 19, 2010 at 08:53:20
Specs: Windows Vista

Long story short, I'm a rank amatuer who performed some ill advised computer surgery and ended up accidentally ripping the fan motor out of my laptop. I need help either reattaching it, or fooling the BIOS into thinking it's still attached. All the wires are still intact, and the motor is as well. As long as I run the computer in power saver mode, it doesn't overheat, so I just need the computer to think that the essentially useless fan is still attached.

That is certainly useful information, but my situation is a little more... unique. My fan unit is intact, except the motor has become disconnected from the computer, so I need help either reattaching the motor, or fooling the BIOS into thinking it's still attached. My computer won't even try to boot up right now.
