Does anyone use filers for intakes? Do you find they block much air flow? Do they collect enough dust to be worth it?
Most of the common fans you find on computers are simply not designed to use filters. The airflow reduction would be dramatic.

I run Thermaltake V1000A cases and they come already equiped with filters apart from the fans in the rear and top. I've bought and instaled filters there also and one thing I must say is that in over a year all I do is remove and clean the filters. They do gather quite a bit of dust (dirt) and looking at them I can't believe I ever did without them. Anyway, as I said, in over a year running the filters and without cleaning any area inside the case, the inside looks absolutely spotless. I do clean out the filters monthly however.
Not sure if all fans can handle them but since the fans on the Thermaltake case already have them on it and are all the same I knew it wouldn't hurt to equip them all with them.
