Solved Failed NVIDIA GeForce 6150E nforce 430 replace/upgrade

Specs: Windows 7
I have a HP Pavilion with AMD Athlon 64 X2 4800+ processor, Raidmax Volcano 630W PSU, ECS Nettle motherboard and Phoenix Technologies BIOS version 5.09, 4096 MB DDR2 memory, and a failed NVIDIA GeForce 6150 E nForce 430 graphics card. I had been using the graphics card to run two analog displays. I have a brand new GeForce 9500GT card that my son purchased then didn't use. Will this work? Is there a better choice? Thanks!

I would say that card should work. Your motherboard has a PCIe x16 slot.

The 9500GT is a PCIe x16 ver. 2.0 card. The power supply requirements only call for 350W and you have 630W. No harm in trying it. See the link below for card specs.

You will need VGA to DVI cable adapters for your monitors.

Thanks! I've installed the new card and drivers, and it's working well. This gave me a great sense of accomplishment (I have no computer training and limited experience with the insides of a computer), and I appreciate your advice. And it saved a great deal of money to use the new graphics card that was just sitting around instead of purchasing a new one.
