I have a 2004 Dell Dimensions 8300 that directed me to BIOS screen, hit f 1 and it just beeps, try f 2 for set up options with "no hard drive installed" cant boot from disc either. I realize it's bad but would like to know if there is any way to pull pictures and files off this hard drive.

If the drive is bad enough that neither Windows or the system can recognise it, there is no software method of recovering data from it, since all recovery software requires that the drive is in a usable state and can be detected and read by the system.

Where the drive has failed and is no longer detected or not readable, the only way to get data from it is by letting a professional data-recovery service do it with specialist hardware - but that is frightfully expensive.

I'm afraid it's too late now with this advice, but you should never have precious files saved on just one hard drive. Sure, ive been there and lost many photos when I was a newbie years ago, but I learned my lesson and now I have 3 external hard drives all containing the same data.
