Hi, I have just bought some memory. 1GB PC2700 333Mhz. My specs are 3.4Gz processor. Fujitsu siemens scaleo T.
With two 512 sticks in, Bios shows 1024. If I leave in one 512 & add the 1Gb bios only shows 512. I only have 2 sockets. There are no clock speed or voltage settings in the bios.
Belarc & Sissoft Sandra shows one 512 & one 1024. As does the Crucial memory scanner, although this says I have 3 sockets.
I have spoken to Fujitsu siemens. They say up to 2gb is supported on the motherboard, & there are no bios updates.

If I just put in the 1gb stick, pc won't boot & continuously beeps. I have tried in both sockets. Cpuz shows both as Pc2700 etc, the only thing is it shows different is Manufacture date of week 33 year 80? Which I think is unusual, I wouldn't have thought PC2700 was made back then. Device manager in windows & FreeRAM show 512. Do I have a faulty stick of RAM?

if it beeps with just the 1gb stick in i would say it is faulty or wrong type for your motherboard

Thanks for the reply. I suspect you are right. What I don't understand is why on the main page of device manager it shows 512Mb, but in system information it shows 1536Mb.
