I have external USB 60 GB hard disk (western gigital)and I have copied almost 30 GB data to it, but now when I plug it to my computer only 12 GB space is used and there is nothing in the disk without one folder name recycler: why it happend and how can I recover my data I shall be extremly thankful if you could guide me toward right direction.

If you copied 30gb of data what happened to your source files? Surely you verified the copies before deleting the originals. Plenty has been written here before about data recovery tools. There's even a link to one in the advertising on this page.
I used to have a signature but it disappeared and I just couldn't be bothered writing another so please feel free to ingore this.

I have verified the data after copying and then I have deleted the original data, infact I have used the data from the external HDD several times, but now suddenly there is no data there.

Did you use the USB hdd on more then the one comp ?
Go into Disk Management, just how is the disk displayed ? (hdd size/partition size)
