I just bought a hard drive several days ago (on Amazon, its in the mail). I have to use it for my film classes in college. The problem is at home I use a PC (because they are frickin awesome) but at school I have to use a Mac (because they believe using a Mac somehow makes their department look more official).
Anyway I heard there is a way to "partition" the hard drive or something so I can use it for both PC and Mac. The problem is, I was wondering if it would be at all possible to access the same movie footage from both my PC and the school's Macs. The footage would be edited in Premiere or some such program so most likely the file format will be available for use on both PC and Mac, same with the raw footage (probably in .avi or .mov).

After you partition the hard drive and have all that OS system stuff sorted out, you should be able to use email or a website to transfer the file as if they were two different computers. I've never had a pc/mac partition before, so this is the best idea I've got for you!

I have no idea what you mean. You're saying I should email the files to myself? We're talking files that will be like 200mb big.
