external hard drive use

Specs: Windows Vista hp sp1, 32 bit/1gb
I have added an external hard drive to my laptop for much need extra disk space. It is not helping cause I can't find a real convenient way of using it, can i run vista on it and have act like an extension to my existing hard disk?

What is the issue with using the external drive? You don't need Vista installed on the external in order to use it.

If you are having problems sending files to the external you just need to change the path. Changing it once is usually all that you need to do for the new path to become the default. Be sure to make folders to save the files to.
