Hi there,
I backed up all my data on my iomega ldhd-up tgp external hard drive, restored my computer to its oriniginal factory settings and now its asking me to reformat my ext hard drive, i dont wana lose the data.Tried test disk and it said that my boot sector and backup were bad

You could try a file recovery program:

Wow sounds a bvit wierd, i had to do the same with my computer. Although i also have an external Iomega HD and i didn't have any problems with it.
