I have used this external hard drive on a Mac and might have formatted it on the Mac as well. Now I don't have the Mac anymore and need to use it on Windows. How do I get Windows to recognize the drive without having to go back to a Mac to change the FAT32/NTFS situation? I just want to format the drive on Windows and start fresh on Windows but Windows doesn't recognise the drive at all. I don't own a Mac anymore. Please help!

Gparted can help you format the drive, I think.

Disk Management 'should' see the drive and format/partition it.
Right click 'My Computer' > Manage > Storage > Disk Management.
