Hi everyone,
I want to have an external DVD burner, so I plan to buy an internal DVD burner such as a "NEC ND-3550", and then install it into a drive enclosure such as "Bytecc ME-340U2 5.25". Is that ok? Is it better to buy a pre-built external DVD burner? Thank you for any advices.

Go for the "internal" DVD burner with a separate external enclosure. You probably would be able to purchase good components for less money than if you bought a pre-built unit. Check out the many deals at newegg.com, where you can also read customer reviews of the items. For external enclosures, go to: http://www.newegg.com/ProductSort/SubCategory.asp?SubCategory=92. For DVD burners, go to: http://www.newegg.com/ProductSort/SubCategory.asp?SubCategory=5. If you want to check out the pre-built units, go to: http://www.newegg.com/ProductSort/SubCategory.asp?SubCategory=420.
