Hi,
I am looking into purchasing this ExpressCard for a laptop: http://www.addonics.com/products/ho... It's the cheapest one I could find that has USB (since the USB ports already on the laptop are shot due to an idiot who tried to fix something else in the laptop). The main reason USB is needed is for an Ipod and maybe a printer. I see that there is an optional AC/DC adapter for it. I take it that that is only for devices that NEED power, like for charging cell phones/cameras/GPS, etc... off of the USB port. Does anyone know if the ipod REQUIRES a POWERED USB port? I don't think the laptop user wants to deal with plugging in an adapter just to use his ipod since there wouldn't always be an outlet around. If anyone knows - I'd greatly appreciate it!! Or if anyone knows where I can get an ExpressCard/34 or /54 for cheaper!!! Doesn't need firewire - just usb would be fine!! Thanks!!
