Ethernet Controller in Device Manag

God forbid here we go again. Completed a clean install last night and am having problems with drivers again, this time for the Ethernet controller. I have tried to update the drivers with the cd that came with the motherboard, the one with the chipset, but to no avail. Doesn't windows have generic drivers for the ethernet controller? I also searched the windows CD without success. This is reminescent of the problem that caused me to do a clean install in the first place. Anyone care to give me some advice on this one? TIA

I think the driver you need is at the link below. Look at the second from the bottom. Before loading that driver try downloading a utility called SIW. SIW should identify your network controller.

Thanks guys this one was easy...I had a NIC card that was not being used installed on my motherboard. Removed the card and Device Manager is all well again. Thanks for the links to downloads. I did pick up SIW and it tells all. Thanks guys and have a great day.
