Hello All,
Got this motherboard off ebay, and having lan card trouble, it has an inboard lan card and it saying network card unplugged. I took a pci card out of one of my computer that works fine and installed it on this ebay board and the results are the same, I even move it around to different slots, same results, I've loaded the chip set, and nothing works, I know the cable is good because I'm writting this to someone that might be able to help. I think I just got a bad board, I really cant complain because I got it dirt cheap. I'll give some info. its a MSI 865GVM2-LS mobo, the onboard lan is a realtek 8100C Ive run out of oppions here, Im ready to call it a day and but the processor and ram in another board. if some has an answer I would be greatfully thankful...... I cant understand this, Ive put a lot of computers together and never ran into this problem thanks much and hope to hear from someone..... cheers to all

These are the drivers that should work. The driver is for the realtek 8100c. It's in the 8139/810x family. Try it.

Hello grasshooper

thanks much, I downloaded all the drivers and installed them, but that didnt work, like I said this board has a inboard display which I got running, it has onboard sound card, got that running too, I just can not get this lan card to load up, it keeps coming up lan unplugged, its driving me crazy, I know its not the plug, because I can hook up to other computers I have here and everything works fine, I've put several operating system on it, win 98, win 7, xp sp1 and xp sp3 and it still comes up with the lan is unplugged. I've also tryed different network cards, still the same thing, well, think I've said enough, dont want to hold you up, but if you have something else to try, please reply, sure want to resolved this,

I could see the onboard NIC not working, but if you are using a pci slot NIC and that doesn't work either, it must be the Mobo itself. It would be rare that both ports are dead, but it happens. Maybe someone else has an idea.

thanks much grasshopper, yeah I found that odd too when installing a pci network card and the same results, you might be right, sounds like a mobo issue, I bought the board of ebay as is, it was very cheap so why not, maybe I should get another mobo and use the processor and memory for that. I dont know, put together alot of computers and never ran into this issue. well anyway thank you for your help, I appreciate it greatly..... wickerman
