After upgrading to Service Pack 2, Windows XP no longer recognizes my Ethernet card. I've tried reinstalling the original drivers (2 years old) but nothing works. I have the Intel Pro / 100VE Network Connection but couldn't find a driver update at intel.com.

I have to stick my neck out and assume it's an onboard LAN connection. As far fetched as it sounds it might have gotten turned off in the bios. Hopefully it's that simple. But if it's on you might want to reinstall the motherboard drivers. Either from the cd that came with the motherboard or get them off the Intel site. They may not offer drivers for items as indiviual peices but for the motherboard as a whole.
