Good advice to back up, but you should be doing that already.
Personally I don't trust SMART, and I don't use it. I wouldn't replace the drive just on SMART's say so. Running CHKDSK /R will do a surface check of the drive looking for bad sectors, and you could also download a diagnostic from the hard drive manufacturer's web site, and see what they have to say.
