I have this error message on my HP:

(Error: System Fan Has Failed! Service PC to prevent damage to the system.
press <F2> to continue"

I recently switched cases (moved the motherboard over to a new case) and got a new power supply, that's when it started. My previous system fan was drawing power from the motherboard itself, but my new system fan is drawing power directly from the new power supply. My guess is that my MOBO can't recognize the new system fan (working perfectly) because it's no longer connected directly to the MOBO.

I'm not worried about being able to check the status/speed of this new fan either now or in the future, I'm just wondering if there's a way to tell the PC to not worry about it and not display the Error Message anymore...

Thanks.

This error message usually relates to the CPU heatsink fan. Are you saying that when you moved the motherboard into the new case you chose to connect that fan to the powersupply instead of the motherboard header? Why?
If it was a casefan from the old case that was connected to that motherboard header then I suggest you transfer that fan into the new case as an extra and connect it to the header it used to attach to. that will eliminate your message.

I used to have a signature but it disappeared and I just couldn't be bothered writing another so please feel free to ingore this.
