hi, i have a seagate STT20000A backup tape drive. it was properly backing up data but recently it has been giving the following error when i try to backup data: "device received an invalid format. Ref: 05-20-23-00-0403". i use veritas ver 4.5 software for backing up. i have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the program and checked to make sure the jumper settings on the drive are correct. any help will be appreciated. thanks in advance!!

Running into the same problem on an XP computer. Backup Exec 4.5a, build SRS 300B58A. The following is a link to Veritas' support site, where some of the error codes are explained.

According to the document, this error appears to occur on an "open tape" request. The program then returns the error "the drive received an unknown command". I haven't yet tried a new tape, but I've done a successful backup with this drive and tape before.
