Error on booting

Hewlett-packard / Proline

Specs: Windows server 2008R2
I tried to install windows server 2008R2 and it gave me problems. Now I am trying to reinstall windows servr 2003 and I get the following error " The computer restarted unexpectedly or encountered an unexpected error. Windows installation cannot proceed. To install windows, click "OK" to restart the computer, and then restart installation"

I have tried to restart but continously get the same error. I am installing from an external DVD drive and I've configured it on the BIOS setup.

I may be wrong but I believe there is more involved in installing from an external device than just configuring the bios boot priority. The initial setup files load up drivers and normally look for either IDE or SATA drive for the install media. I think that although your motherboard may have USB support in bios, the setup files do not have USB and do not know to look there for the rest of the setup files. 24million hits on google
