I recently purchased an Enlight EN-7250 case. It comes with two front USB ports. There wasn’t any documentation on how the pin receptors are configured for the MOBO end of the USB cord. It terminates in two, one-pin female connectors labeled ground and two, three-pin female connectors labeled USB.

I’ve been to Enlight’s site and Google without much success.

Thanks "dude"!

I know how the MOBO pins are configured.

I've found that the cable end configurations vary and that's a part that came from Enlight.

I ran into this with an Antec cable and a Gigabyte MOBO. Antec had a diagram of their cable's socket pin configuration and when I realized that it didn't match the configuration of the pins on that MOBO, they sent me a different cable with separate sockets for each wire.

I can't determine the pin configuration for this Enlight cable. I could just "plug and pray" but I'd hate to ruin a USB device or my MOBO.

cmw2010:

Holding the 3 pin socket with the 3 wires to my left, there are two lines of characters. The top line says "VCC" and the bottom line says "D+".

I think that means that the top wire/female socket is +5V and the bottom wire/socket is the positive USB signal.

Does that sound right?

I don't know what case this paper that I have came with but it sounds like it is labeled the same:
(1)VCC USB Power (+5v) for port 1
(1)-D USB Negative Signal for Port 1
(1)+D USB Positive Signal for Port 1
(1)Ground USB Ground
(2)VCC USB Power (+5v) for port 2
(2)-D USB Negative Signal for Port 2
(2)+D USB Positive Signal for Port 2
(2)Ground USB Ground

Hope that helps!

Thanks cmw2010!

Enlight was totally unhelpful ... but I still like how they layout their cases.

I plugged the cable into the MOBO header as you suggested and I now have functioning front USB and I didn't break anything ...... yet!
