Hello, I have an Emachines T2882 desktop computer running Windows XP, suddenly yesterday my computer wouldn't power up. The fan came on strong at first, but with no lights, Now the fan is shallow and I keep getting a constant yellow light blinking. Everything that is powered up to the computer has the same rhythm of blinking lights. Any idea what's going on?

There are so many things that can wrong or suddenly fail. Trouble shooting will depend on how comfortable you are taking apart your computer. Having said that, I suggest you begin by trying to boot using the bare minimums. Hardware failure may be evident. What you wanna do now is make sure you have cut off the power completly to the machine. Now, disconnect everything that has a power connection
including the motherboard. Take a visual inventory of whats inside and look for signs of damage. If you notice an obviously damaged/burnt part then there is no need to continue. If not , then connect the motherboard and your monitor then try to power up. If you see the POST screen this is good. Power down and keep adding hardware and post your results.
