My computer has an E-machines keyboard with buttons that automatically Copy, Cut, and Paste. Yesterday these buttons stopped functioning. Any ideas on what caused this and how to set them back to normal?

Val,,
As you have been having problems with hijacking and the like, it is possible that the special keyboard driver for your keyboard is corrupted or indeed missing. I would reinstall the keyboard drivers from your CD, and see what happens...

Val,

Tell me exactly your Emachine model and the keyboard model.

For keyboards with "extra" function keys, there is sometimes a driver to make em work. If there is, these drivers are normally found on a floppy that comes with the keyboard, or on a CD for the entire machine if the keyboard was part and parcel of the deal.

For CUT COPY PASTE however, these are just a two key combo set equivalent to:-

CUT = CONTROL+X
COPY = CONTROL+C
PASTE = CONTROL+V

Most key combos stem from many moons ago, back to DOS and a wonderful program called WORDSTAR and were retained for program compatiblity purposes.

Just for fun.. try those combos, and when you post your model info, I'll see what I can do.

Val,

Go to this link:-

http://www.e4me.com/support/driver_search.html

Select your PC model from the list and you will see drivers for the keyboard amongst others.

Download the driver and give it a whirl..:o)
