Emachines Case Too Small

Specs: Windows Vista
Ok my Emachine computer I bout was running slow so I upgraded the ram and bought a new graphics card. I bought a ATI Sapphire Radeon HD 5770, the 1B GDDR5 version.. When I went to install the new graphics card it would not fit. The inside of my PC looks like this I noticed there are little tab like things on the left. Do those come off of something so that my graphics card can fit? I know nothing about the inside of computers and I don't want to break my new card. I also can't afford to buy a new case at the moment.

You need a low profile card. Some cards come with two brackets but the card itself may be too tall.

On another note. Emachines are known for their crappy/ weak power supplies. The card bought draws a fair amount of wattage from the 12V rail you will probably need to change your power supply to a reputable brand with more wattage.

Not sure what you're asking? If you've NEVER had a video card installed before, the slot area in the rear of the case is probably still blocked off. The HD 5770s that I've seen take up 2 slots so you'll have to determine which 2 metal cover plates will have to be removed. Some pop out easily, others have to be worked up & down until they snap off. There's usually a slotted hole or + where a screwdriver tip can be inserted to help you to snap the plates off. Make sure you remove the right one(s).

The Radeon HD 5770 is a pretty powerful card. There's no way the stock eMachines (Bestec) power supply will be able to handle the card. Does your PSU even have a 6-pin PCIe plug? Sapphire recommends a 500W PSU:

Maybe I misunderstood. You may or may not need a low profile card. You do need to remove the knockouts in order to install any card.
