Comment: A friend of a friend gave me their computer to look at because XP was not loading. The company that sold it advise to return the XP reboot disk and some other CD's to them ( WHY???) I have NO reboot disk and was getting one from a friend to try and restart; NOW the computer will not even boot up to BIOS stage but the fans are working. The monitor is saying check lead and pc. Any ideas ??? I'm leaning towards power supply or mobo?? Cheers Matt

Reply: (edit)no beeps either?? can you give me more details?? if the power supply is dead, your cpu fan won't working. you can try to remove other hardware and leave the ram and video card plugged in. and see if the pc will boot up propertly. because sometimes some hardware died will cause the whole pc seems "dead"

Reply: (edit)If the computer was moved, there is a chance that something worked loose. Check to make sure the cpu and ram or even cables and wires are properly seated. My computer has done the same thing to me and that was always the problem. Good luck.
