eMachine desktop wont turn on please help

Specs: Windows XP

i dont know alot about computers but i have a emachines t3626 every time i go to turn on my computer i push the button and i can hear the fan begins to run really fast and loud but the led on the button doesnt turn on and nothing comes on the screen and the only way i can turnit off is by unplugging it i had removed the cpu fan to clean it after that its when it started acting up please some one help me!!!!!!!!!!!

Whenever you remove the heatsink fan, you need to apply a fresh coat of thermal compound to the cpu before you reapply the fan. If you don't it will overheat and shut down quickly to prevent the cpu from burning out. Read the instructions for your processor.

yes aply new coat of grease only need a little dot of it verses smearing it all over .

Well, I have the same problem except I did not do anything> I shut it down and the nextday it would not boot up. The fan runs. The led on the front does not light up. I have the same emachine. I am thinking maybe it's the board or the cpu
