edo memory for acer 524 travelmate

Hi, I have an Acer Travelmate 524TEV with a 64 mb stick of ram. I would like to upgrade this, does this board have a ram caching limit? What kind of memory is this, I read it was edo. Would it be foolish to throw away the the 64mb stick and opt fro two larger sticks, but even then would they be so expensive that I would not want to purchase as the notebook is only of so much value. Links to cheap ram? Thanks cjae

Most intel P-I chipsets had a 64 meg cache limit. That didn't mean you couldn't add more memory; just that more than 64 meg may not be useful. Anyway you've got a P-III. I'm sure the caching of your chipset is much more than 64 meg. Here's some RAM info.
