Comment:
i have the ECS K7S5A motherboar it supports both ddr and sdram on it, i bought 256mb pc2100 ddr for it and tried it but the motherboard wont boot or anything, i tried a 16mb sdram and it booted up, is there something in the bios i have to do for it to recognize the ddr memory? the motherboard says it will accept 200/266 ddr so i dont understand why its not accepting it..

If it works for the sdram but not for the ddr memory I think there are two things that could be wrong. Either your ddr memory is defective or the ddr slots on the motherboard are defective. If you know someone with a ddr memory motherboard try testing your memory on his board and then test his memory on your board and see if either of those work to try to find the problem.

You may have to go with the SDRAM to get it started and flash bios. Check their website to see if it applies in your situation.
