I am currently using the onboard sound on my ECS k75SA even though I have a Soundblaster Live 5.1 card lying around. I just upgraded to 5.1 speakers and want to add the soundcard. In the past I have conflict problems trying to do this. What do I need to do to add the card? What do I need to change (turn off) in the bios so that the onboard sound isn't operational? Will the C-Media drivers for the on-board sound conflict?

I have the 5.1 sound card and onboard audio both running on my pc. Just plug the output cables into the 5.1 card, it shouldn't conflict in xp.

You can disable the onboard AC97' sound in the bios. I did that after i installed my santa cruz, and everything works fine.
BTW. I have the same MB as well.

Thanks for your help guys. I just got the Logitech 5.1 speakers (640?) and I'm looking forward to hooking them up. I'll try disabling the audio and keep my fingers crossed that there are no conflicts. You might be seeing some more posts from me on this subject in the near future.
