I can get a used E6850 / P5E combo for $250 and a new e8400 / p35 ds3l combo for $300 in Canada. Is it worth it to get the new e 8400 combo for $50 more? The rest of my system is going to be : 8800GT 512, 2 GB OCZ ram, 500 GB WD. Thanks

I would get the e8400 / p35 ds3l combo. First, the E8400 gets very good reviews and is part of the new class of 45nm processors.
Second, I would be leary of a used mobo, especially if you're not saving that much. If someone returned it because they had problems with it, then that would be a headache for you also.
