DVI-I vs. DVI-D, Pin configuration

September 28, 2010 at 08:58:51
Specs: Windows XP
I bought an adapter for a DVI-I to VGA. However, When I went to plug it into my docking station, I realized I have a DVI-d port. The difference is the 4 pins the surround the long flat pin on the end. Anyone know if I break off these 4 pins to fit in my machine, will the adapter still work?

No...if it's the Dell laptop docking station it won't work (already been down that road) even if you pull out the extra 4 pins as the blade is also larger and will not mate.
