I just purchased a nice Viewsonic 19" widescreen monitor which has both vga and dvi inputs. My cable is currently a regular vga cable attached to the vga input on the monitor and dvi via a dvi to vga adapter to my 8600gts card. My question is, will I notice much of a picture quality difference if I purchase a straight dvi to dvi cable to attach the monitor directly to the card? everyone i have come across said they could see no difference.So i have not boteherd buying a dvi cable for mine. I have not tried it myslef, but there are definitely people who treid it both ways and said they could see no difference

No, you won't notice the difference unless you're using a *really* crappy VGA cable. Before I upgraded to a video card which forced me to use DVI, I was using analog VGA at a resolution of 1920x1200. The picture was perfectly clear; when I switched to the DVI-only video card, I didn't see ANY difference.
