Hi guys!

A friend of mine got a problem.

He has an LG TFT monitor and recently bought an XFX 7800 GS AGP card with Analog AND DVI output.

When he plugs the monitor into the DVI output of his Graphics Card it is simply not working! Another friend of mine has the same problem with a 7950 Nvidia card! So I thought you could help us.

I also have a new LG monitor (19') and XFX 7800GS AGP card but it plays smooth. No problem with me.

What is wrong?

I've had my share of problems with DVI too. I'm guessing that the connector on the card just isn't properly soldered. But that's just a guess.

I once had a problem in which every resolution except 1024x768 and 1280x768 would look totally scrambled. If I were you, I'd just use a high quality analog cable. You won't lose much image quality at all.

My Super P3:
Pentium III-S 1.4GHz @ 1.58GHz, 512K L2
X800XT All-in-wonder, overclocked to 580/600.
250GB HD
2 gigs of PC2100 RAM
QDI Advance 12 mobo, this baby rocks!

My old monitor (Daytech 19") also stopped working for DVI all of a sudden. The BIOS and all would work fine, but when it go into windows, it would say "no signal", but i can still hear the login sounds and all. I switched back to analog and it worked fine. I just bought a new monitor (Samsung 19" 931c) and it worked fine with DVI.

They do have the proper DVI connections to it right cause there is like 3 diff types DVI Analog, digital and interlace. Their video card maybe DVD-D but their LCD monitor maybe DVI-A and therefor you have to buy a conntection like that or get an adaptor.

i have a 7900GT and my DVI-D on both grpahics card and lcd works fine.

AMD Athlon 64 X2 4600+ OC 2.7ghz
2GB Dual Channel DDR 3200
Nvidia 7900GT
SATA II 2x 300gig 7200rpm 16mb cache RAID-0+1
Gigabyte Nforce 4 SLI
