dvd-rom stopped being recognized by

My dvd-rom stopped showing up in bios and I cant get my comp. to recognize it's even there. Any help is appreciated.

If your BIOS are not finding it, then you need to open your case and check your power conection and your IDE cable going from the controller to your drive. Also make sure Master/Slave jumper settings are set on the back of the drive. Very possible that the drive went poof.
